This is probably the most well-known format where you come to me at my place of work (14 Evelyn Road, Worthing) and we spend approximately 50 minutes together each time talking through whatever the issues, difficulties, opportunities or plans are that concern you right now.

I share these rooms with a group of practitioners and, together, we are The Counselling Practice, providing a range of services and different approaches. It’s only a short walk from Worthing Railway Station, well-served by local bus routes, and there is free street parking nearby.

We don’t have a waiting room so please arrive on time and knock on the white door to the extension that is to the left of the main house (it has a sign next to the door: ‘The Rooms’) and I will come and let you in.

Currently, due to coronavirus, I am offering a very limited number of face-to-face appointments for exceptional circumstances. If we do meet face-to-face I ask that you:

  • Do not come if you are in any way unwell or suspect that you might have come into recent contact with someone who has tested postive for, or suspects they may have, coronavirus.
  • Take all the usual precautions prior to arriving and when here in terms of social distancing, handwashing, etc.
  • Wear a mask on arrival and departure as our hall is narrow – you may remove it if you wish once we are seated (I will be wearing a visor to greet you and during our session).

Please also be aware that if either of us tests positive for coronavirus, the NHS test and trace service will ask us about people with whom we’ve recently been in contact in order to contact them to provide support and testing.

If this happens we will need to break the confidentiality agreement in our contract in the interests of public health. This will be confined, however, to the fact that we have met, when, where and for how long (as may be required) – all other information regarding our session(s) will, of course, remain confidential.
